For practically all my life I suffered with anorexia and depression. Even when I was in kindergarten, I can clearly remember having this terror of being overweight and having depression. From the age of 15, I was on antidepressants. These conditions completely controlled my life, and at this age of 15, I firmly decided that if I got over a certain weight, I would take my life. I had a mixture of 300 pills that I used to carry with me at all times and I was ready to take them at a moment’s notice to end it all. After practically every meal I would throw up, but did not let anybody know about this.
At the age of 18, I went from my hometown of Feilding to Whanganui to live for a while. I had never ever been a church attendee at all. One Sunday morning, I was walking past Equippers Church in Whanganui, and a lady spoke to me and gave me a hug, which had a profound effect on me. She invited me into the church for the service. I went in, enjoyed the service, and started to attend the church. I then shifted back to Feilding and started attending Vision Church, and there I accepted Jesus as my Lord. However, I still suffered from anorexia and depression. In September 2012, when I was 19, I attended a divine healing service where Weston Carryer was ministering. During the ministry time I went forward for him to pray for me for deliverance from both the suicide compulsion and the anorexia. As he prayed the power of God hit me in an amazing way. I went onto the floor, and for the next hour I was unable to stand on my feet.
At the end of the meeting I had to be carried out, taken home, and put to bed. I was shaky for the next 48 hours. During that time I was totally healed of both the anorexia and depression, and I immediately stopped taking all medication. I became so aware of the love that God has for me. My life was truly transformed immediately. Over the last seven months, I have been able to eat what I like. I have no depression and I just want to live my life for Jesus. Thank You, Lord.
