My name is Dot Davidson, I am forty-five years old, and I live in Wanaka. I had been diagnosed with chronic R.S.I. in both arms, as well as, R.S.D. (reflex synopethat dystrophy) in my left arm. I had been in plaster, and had braces for both arms.
I had been to the clinic in Dunedin several times, had cortisone injections three times, and Guanethidine block done three times. (This is when they squeeze all the blood from your arm, then put on a tourniquet, and slowly inject the Guanethidine; this takes about forty minutes all up.) Following this procedure, my arm would have black blotches all over it and it felt dead, but it never stopped the pain.
In the end, there was really nothing more they could do. I was told I would never work the same job, that the only job I would be capable of was a one-handed one, that I wouldn’t be able to drive a car or even look after kids as I couldn’t rely on my hands to work. I had partial feeling in the fingers of my left hand with no strength in either hand. I lived like this for at least two years. I couldn’t even do my own housework. ACC sent someone to do that once a week. I was taking up to fifteen panadeine tablets a day for constant pain. Just making a cup of tea was awful.
Weston prayed for me that night. It was the first time I had ever gone up for prayer as I was a new Christian. I cried, and I was so scared, but knew God was talking to me. When I got home that night my arms got really hot and they stayed that way for three days; it felt like they were burning inside. When the burning stopped, the pain was also gone, and it has not returned. I thank God every day for that healing. I am now housekeeping for other people who need it. I am even looking after children, which I love doing, and sewing baby clothes— most of which I give away or sell. There is now nothing I cannot do. The strength in my arms is returning and there is no pain. I am so thankful that Weston shared his healing gift with people like me.
