God’s healing power—what a wonderful gift. Although I have been a Christian for many years, I had not given much thought to miracle healing until one night God blessed me with one of my own. My wife and I had gone to a house group meeting where evangelist Weston Carryer was preaching. A real presence of God was there, and God was healing people and bringing them forward by a word of knowledge. The word “feet” came out which did not really suggest too much to me, but then the word “arches” came through and that really hit home. I was a harrier who enjoyed my running. For many years I had worn arch supports in my shoes as I had a problem with high arches. These supports were specially hospital-made every few years after new casts had been taken. Without supports, all my weight would press down on my feet giving me corns and all sorts of foot problems necessitating chiropody.
In faith, I went forward. Weston laid hands on me and I was aware of a real heat coming down, then a total lightness as my body seemed to be floating up into the clouds. I felt a real love reaching out to me and a very peaceful feeling I knew to be God’s presence. God’s healing is perfect, but He does seek to reassure us. That night I removed all my arch supports and prayed that my healing be complete. True to His Word, God proved His healing.
The Dorne Cup race came up on the harrier programme and, without the benefit of supports, I ran it in the fastest time ever—faster than I had ever run before. Then followed half- marathons at Wellington, Palmerston North, and our own in Wairarapa—every one of which I ran faster than I had ever run before and all without supports. God’s healing is complete and I know He healed my arches perfectly and enabled me to run faster just to prove it. Praise God for His healing grace. Never hesitate to go forward, in faith, and receive His gift for you; for His love knows no bounds, and He is there just wanting to share your life and give you His peace.
