"For a long period of time I slowly developed very sore muscles, and got weaker and weaker. As a builder it became very difficult for me to work. The muscle soreness continued to intensify and I developed twitching and experienced spasms which would keep me awake at night. The doctor diagnosed polymyalgia.

I eventually became so weak that even picking up a cup of coffee required two hands. By this stage I could not work at all. I also discovered that my brain function was diminishing, which was very alarming.

In March 2011, I attended a divine healing meeting at C3 Church Christchurch, where Western Carryer was ministering. During the ministry time, Weston said there was someone there with a medically incurable condition especially affecting the muscles, and the person had come believing that day for a miracle. That was me. Two of these conditions applied to me although I didn’t know it was a medically incurable condition.

I responded and Weston then prayed for me. The next day I felt better. My wife and I stood on God’s Word for my total healing, and 48 hours later, my strength started to return. I then realised how weak I had actually been.

I was still puzzled about what the medically incurable disease could be. My wife and I prayed, and the Lord revealed to my wife that it was motor neurone disease, which is a condition that we knew practically nothing about. I went back to the doctor and asked if the early symptoms of motor neurone disease were similar to polymyalgia and she said, “Yes.”

Over the next five weeks I got a lot stronger and was able to start an exercise regime. Then, three to four months later, my mind started to function at a reasonable standard and continued to improve until once again, I was able to be highly organised. Eighteen weeks after being prayed for, I was able to work again and even started playing squash.

Now, three years later (March 2014) at 49 years of age, I am working on-site as a builder with three apprentices, and working to the capacity I did in my early-30s. This is truly a miracle and I am so grateful to the Lord for my new lease on life.

We saw a documentary on a man in Australia who was battling motor neurone disease and his symptoms were mine to a “T,” along with other things I didn’t even realise were part of the disease. This, we believe, confirmed what the Lord had healed me from. Praise You, Jesus."
