As promised last week…here is Part 2: the prayer guide…

Oh, how we need to realize the life-giving power of prayer.
 
How do we cultivate a vibrant, healthy relationship with Jesus?
In the gospel of Luke, the disciples asked Jesus how do we pray? We know it as the Lord’s prayer (Matt 6:7-15. Luke 11:1-4).  It covers everything in life! I’ve found it a fantastic, helpful guide, which keeps me focused.
 
It’s sustainable, simple and for me it’s been a lifesaver! I realize most people know it’s right to pray, it’s easy to start yet hard to continue in prayer week after week and year after year. Prayer needs to develop into a habit so it begins to develop you. It may begin as a duty, but allow it to turn into a delight.
 
Allow yourself the life-giving privilege to make room for God and enjoy playing with the prayer guide so it becomes yours… it’s not a ‘prayer law’, but let it be a wonderful simple ‘prayer guide…’

Our Father, in Heaven may your name be kept holy

1. Picture the cross and thank God you can call him “Father” because of the blood of Jesus
2. Here are the benefits of the Christian life, make your faith declarations

Your Kingdom come soon, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven

1. Yourself
2. Your family (spouse, children, other family members)
3. Your church (pastor, leadership, others, harvest)
4. Nations (city, state, and national, political and spiritual leaders, harvest)

Give us today, the food we need

1. Be in the will of God (prayer life, church, work habits, obedience in giving)
2. Believe it is God’s will to prosper you
3. Be specific
4. Be tenacious

And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us:

1. Ask God to forgive you
2. Forgive and release others
3. Set your will to forgive those who sin against you

And don’t let us give in to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one:

1. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph.6)
2. The Belt of TRUTH
3. Breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS
4. Feed shod with the preparation (readiness) of the gospel of PEACE
5. Shield of FAITH
6. Helmet of SALVATION
7. Sword of the Spirit which is the WORD OF GOD
8. Pray for protection (God you are my refuge and my fortress)

For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever:

1. a) Make your faith declarations 
2. b) Return to praise
