I have just returned from Europe…Le Havre in Normandy was the first stop. The churches and the team are going well. They are making disciples and it will result in multiplying churches. The base is extremely strong and they are well positioned to reproduce. Great people.
Then it was off to South Holland - a city called Oss with our friends Christiaan and JD. It has been a tough journey and things haven’t gone quite as planned. But they were in good heart and good learnings have come out of a very challenging experience. They are still aiming to make disciples and find ways to plant churches that reproduce.
Next it was Antwerp with friends Joost & Lut. It’s always fun biking around Antwerp seeing the sights. I spoke in the Terneuzen Church, (South Holland) which went well and a number received Christ. The leaders are on the journey to formally starting a network of churches in this area. It's such a strategic gateway to the Flemish part of Belgium, which is absolutely bereft of vibrant churches.
Off to the Cotswolds, plus the Morgan Car factory, It’s funny what you find out about yourself but I realise I am more of a car person than I thought. (I’m trying to convince Karen about a large classic American car… but it’s not getting any traction, poetry in motion I say… but alas. Prayer needed!!!).
It was great to have a number of zoom meetings and face to face catch ups with church planters in England.
Poland was next for a long weekend in Warsaw, and it was wonderful to be involved in the 700 project. This is the 3rd time I’ve been and they are focused on the 700 towns and villages that have no church. Approximately 60 churches have begun in the last 10 years.
That’s brilliant considering the cultural and religious difficulties they have to work through. My ‘Multiplication’ book has been printed in Polish and is used quite extensively.
Then it was back to London with my niece Saskia who has recently moved there. I stayed with wonderful people James & Miriam Douglas. Karen looked after Miriam and her siblings before we were married. Miriam looked after our boys when they were tiny. So it was an excellent catch up time.
Walking the streets of London with Saskia and the Mrs Doubtfire musical was a blast. Plus of course I caught up with another church planter… as one does!!
Back to South Holland, and with long time friends Joa, Cors and Coby. It’s always great to be here and once again I ministered in the Axel Church.
It's been a great few weeks, meeting with leaders and sowing my latest church planting book, the second edition of How to Multiply Churches, into people’s hands.
You can order online…There is a digital copy available as well!
